The New Orleans Coalition Endorses Chelsey Richard NapoleonAugust 22, 2018
New Orleans, LA – Chelsey Richard Napoleon, Clerk of Civil District Court, has received the endorsement of the New Orleans Coalition.
The New Orleans Coalition, an organization founded in 1967, was one of the first integrated, politically active groups in New Orleans.
The diverse group held a forum Tuesday evening where they gave candidates an opportunity to share their qualifications with the voting members.
“I am humbled to have received such an important endorsement. The New Orleans Coalition has fought to advance candidates for 50 years. I am grateful for their support. My number one priority is serving this community as your Clerk of Civil District Court. Our residents deserve to come into an office that is being run efficiently and professionally. Each day that I walk into the Clerk’s Office, I commit to improving the experience for everyone who comes into our office, no matter who they are.” said Napoleon upon receiving the endorsement.
Chelsey graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School. She was a National Achievement Scholar and University of New Orleans’ Taylor Scholarship Recipient. She attended the University of New Orleans, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in History. She continued her education at UNO obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Political Science.
Chelsey graduated from Loyola University of New Orleans, College of Law. She attended classes at night while working full-time at the Clerk’s Office during the day and raising a family.
Throughout her tenure in the Clerk’s Office, Chelsey has had a variety of responsibilities in service to the public. She has been responsible for supervising an average of 175 employees. She has monitored the daily operations including staffing, system functionality, finance, human resources, payroll and expense control. She has also made presentations and has conducted public trainings on behalf of the Clerk’s Office.
